Leave Me Be
it used to be
i was free
now i live in the prison
of emptiness
in solitary
with the past as my warden
i weave loneliness
into a cocoon of comforting imperviety
i look around and see no end
the face of loneliness has no horizons
teetering on the edge of sanity
i am drawn into the dark abyss
of numbing monotony
the dark is sweet comfort
shrouding the sparks of love
that blinds
that binds
that burns
i am embalmed
i am entombed
i am safe
please leave me be
