Zunaid Kazi

Dr. Zunaid Kazi is a technologist with over 20 years leadership experience in technology research, development and management. His area of expertise is in text- mining and -analytics using advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP), Inofrmation Retrieval (IR) and Machine Learning technologies.

Zunaid is currently President and CEO of Knowtomation. Knowtomation provides software and services for uncovering meaning from unstructured data.

Prior to Knowtomation, Zunaid was VP, Research and Development at Parity Computing. Parity's Unstructured Data Management and Knowledge Discovery technology extract and profile key entities such as people and organization from disparate data sources and mines relationships between these entities to enable informed decision making. His role included developing key and novel technology innovations including author and entity profiling.

Previously, he was Director of Technology Strategy and Product Management at Liaison Technology. Liaison provided content integration solutions for creating and managing commerce-ready catalogs. At Liaison, Zunaid was responsible for directing product management for the entire Liaison product suite. He also innovated and implemented several major technology innovations applying advanced NLP and IR techniques.

Earlier, Zunaid was with IBM Research where he was a Research Staff Member at the T. J. Watson Research Center. While at IBM, Zunaid played a key role in the development of IBM's text analytics applications. Zunaid also spent some time in academia and teaching Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology for a couple of years.

Zunaid received an MS and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Delaware and a BS in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has authored a number of technical publications and patents.
